Years of experience navigating substantial budget constraints caused by state aid cuts and skyrocketing operating expenses—primarily transportation costs, which have risen from $3M to $5M, and teacher benefits.
Directly involved in ongoing teacher contract negotiations, recognizing that keeping our team intact is critical as we enter the later stages of talks with the teachers' union. Much of what we can and cannot afford is dictated by financial realities, and our priority is to create a mutually beneficial contract for all stakeholders while continuing to navigate this fragile situation. A change to the team will be detrimental to negotiations.
Established a strong, collaborative relationship with our Superintendent, Dr. Cascone, and were responsible for authorizing the renewal of his contract—a decision widely accepted and encouraged by the community to ensure continued stability and consistency at the leadership level, something Holmdel schools had lacked for years. Built positive relationships with our administration team.
Responsible for hiring an incredible, game-changing Board Attorney, Kyle Trent, and replacing our retiring 20-year Business Administrator with Debbie Donnelly—both of whom have been key in building a winning leadership team to guide the district forward.
